Career opportunities
Children’s services educators could be involved in centre based care, nannying, family day care, outside school hours care, play group and in-home care. On the completion of certificate and industry based experience, students may continue their studies to complete the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care qualification.
Study mode
The course is delivered over a 22 week period covering 18 subjects, including First Aid training and a practicum component of at least 120 hours. Students are expected to attend 4 days each week, which includes the face to face delivery.
Entry requirements
Students must be at least 17 to work in centre based care, be an Australian citizen or resident, and be unemployed or working no more than 24 hours a week. Students must also hold or be eligible for a blue card. They must also have sound literacy and numeracy skills, and be willing to obtain employment at the completion of the course.
Payment options
Full payment must be made upon commencement of course, though payment plans are available on request, and outside funding may be available, including the Certificate 3 Guarantee.
